Questionnaires and analysis
After analysing the results from my questionnaire I came to several solid decisions about the construct of my cover. For example, after over a quarter of my sample agreed that font 7 would be the most appropriate for my magazine I have decided to use that font (Rockwell) for my house theme. I believe this font is bold enough to clearly read and formal enough to directly target the appropriate audience. Furthermore, when asked about an appropriate colour scheme equally high results were achieved for the black, red and white scheme as the light blue, white and dark blue. However after conducting several interviews with some of the participants I have decided to use the light blue, white and dark blue scheme because it should complement the images and add a simplistic while efficient looking page.
Most of my sample is students between the age of 16 and 20 which is the audience I wish to reach with my magazine. This will limit the amount that I can charge for my magazine because they may not necessarily have the funds available to buy each copy. With the help of my questionnaire I have decided that £2.50 is an appropriate price to charge for each issue as this, according to my interviews, is a fair price to pay for a decent level of content.
Due to the fact that the majority of my sample agreed that they never buy music magazines, I believe that promotion and update must be done through social networking sites as this is where most of my target audiences’ disposable time is spent. Through my questionnaire and interviews i have concluded that sites such as Facebook and Snapchat would be the most optimum place to promote and advertise.
Over half of my sample agreed that a music magazine should be released monthly which is why I have decided to release it as often. Furthermore, my questionnaire found that both titles ‘Up and Coming’ and ‘Charter’ achieved 7 votes each which lead to me conduct interviews to find out which one would be most appropriate. Student 1 explained that ‘Up and Coming’ would provide more insight into the content of the magazine and be a more deserving title.
